United Nations, February 2 (RHC)-- The alternate permanent representative of Venezuela to the United Nations, Joaquín Pérez Ayesterán, reiterated the solidarity of the South American country with the Palestinian people, its support to the just cause and its condemnation of the Israeli genocide.

"Venezuela reiterated its solidarity with the Palestinian people; its support for their just cause; its condemnation of the ongoing genocide.  Venezuela vows that the recent ruling of the International Court of Justice (ICJ) will serve to achieve a ceasefire; to put an end to the cycle of impunity and to such a prolonged and painful conflict," the official posted on social networks.

In an interim ruling, the ICJ called on Israel to take "immediate and effective" measures to prevent genocide against the Palestinian people in connection with the armed conflict in the Gaza Strip since last October.

On December 29th, South Africa denounced Israel before the ICJ, considering that Gaza is the victim of genocide due to the attacks that the Zionists have carried out in the Palestinian territory since last October.
