SPECIAL COMMUNIQUE ON SITUATION IN PALESTINE

The heads of state and government of the member countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP) met in Caracas, Venezuela, on April 24, 2024, at the occasion of the 23rd summit of heads of state and government, as part of the International Day of Multilateralism and Peace Diplomacy:

1. We demand a comprehensive, just and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through dialogue, based on the creation of two States, allowing Palestine to exercise its right to self-determination as an independent and sovereign State, with East Jerusalem as its capital, within the pre-1967 borders, and guaranteeing the right of return of refugees;

2. We reiterate the call to the international community to impose an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and put an end to the genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity perpetrated against its population, which violate the principles and objectives of the Charter of the United Nations, international law and international humanitarian law

3. We reaffirm our support for the immediate admission of Palestine as a full member state of the United Nations, a just and necessary step that will contribute to the protection of the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people;

4. We urge that the responsibilities of the Israeli government and its supporters for crimes committed against the Palestinian people be determined in accordance with international law.
