Ramallah, October 13 (RHC)-- Israeli army troops have abducted 19 Palestinians in their fresh raids on a few cities in the occupied West Bank. The Palestinian Prisoner's Society said the arrests were made in several cities, including Nablus, Tulkarem and al-Khalil (Hebron), on Saturday night and Sunday morning.

A lawyer for the detainees also said that six minors were detained but were released hours later after being interrogated. Most of the Palestinian prisoners are held in Israeli prisons for a long time without any accusation while they are not even provided with their basic needs, including visiting family members.

Earlier in October, in an interview with Press TV, Qadura Fares, with the Palestinian Prisoners Club, slammed Israel for making numerous arrests in the occupied West Bank, saying the campaign is part of the regime's war against the Palestinian people.

Reports say over 7,000 Palestinians are being held in Israeli jails and that approximately 2,000 of the Palestinian prisoners have been arrested over the past few months.

On September 26th, the Ahrar Center for Prisoners Studies said Israel was holding 540 Palestinians without trial, showing an increase in the number of these cases over the past six years.
