Caracas, May 9 (RHC)-- Venezuela's Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, reported this Friday that during the past few months of 2025, a total of 4,192 Venezuelans have returned to the homeland of Bolívar and Chávez through the humanitarian plan Return to the Homeland.
During the radio program "Sin Truco ni Maña" (Without Trick or Craft), which he hosts with Representative Tania Díaz, Cabello asserted that the number of repatriated Venezuelans is not higher due to the disarray maintained by the U.S. authorities.
He emphasized that through official documentation, the Trump Administration provides a list of potential travelers, and when the flight arrives in Venezuela, the numbers are different. Diosdado Cabello reiterated the complaint about the US refusal to repatriate children. "They continue to insist on dividing Venezuelan families," he emphasized.
After pointing out that three flights arrived this week, he emphasized that the problem with those coming from the U.S. is the lack of seriousness of that government. "They don't know what they're doing, they don't know who they're sending. They give you a list with a number and names, but when they arrive here, it's a different story," he asserted.
On more than one occasion, Cabello has criticized the Venezuelan authorities for their lack of seriousness in handling the situation of the migrants they deport, whose rights are continually disrespected.
During several appearances, the Venezuelan Minister of the Interior, Justice, and Peace has denounced incidents of migrant hunts, arbitrary detentions, separation of children from their parents, and all kinds of harassment inside detention centers and during repatriation flights, which constitute a pattern of systematic violations of their basic rights by US authorities.
During the podcast, Representative Díaz emphasized that the professionalization of repatriated Venezuelans has been recognized. According to studies, 96 percent of citizens are working, and only 1 percent are linked to criminal activities.
On this matter, Cabello emphasized that "the figures were not counted by El Mazo... but by the U.S. government," which is yet another denial of the Trump administration's narrative to deport them.
He noted that a federal district judge in Texas, Fernando Rodríguez Jr., appointed by Trump during his previous term (2017-2021), ruled that it is illegal to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to expel Venezuelan citizens from the country. This is the first judge to issue a categorical ruling on this law.
The Return to the Homeland Plan is an initiative of the Bolivarian Government, specifically of President Nicolás Maduro, to facilitate the return to their country of Venezuelan citizens living abroad, including the United States.
