Moscow, October 9 (RHC/agencies)-- The Russian oil giant Rosneft is looking to expand cooperation with Cuba. The company said over the weekend that its Chief Executive, Igor Sechin, had discussed the issue with a visiting Cuban delegation headed by Energy Minister Alfredo Lopez.
Russia supplies some oil and oil products to Cuba. Rosneft said in a statement the they discussed with the Cuban delegation increasing deliveries, joint extraction projects and possible cooperation to modernize the Cienfuegos oil refinery, in the center of the island.
In May, Rosneft had announced the signing of an agreement with Cuba to supply 250,000 tons of oil and diesel fuel.
