Havana, May 1 (RHC)-- The fact that Cuban culture does not stop in times of pandemic was demonstrated this evening on the prime time radio and TV program Mesa Redonda, with audiovisual material that summarized the main initiatives undertaken by cultural workers in the fight against COVID-19.

With the special collaboration of the Noticiero Cultural, it was announced that a total of 27 concerts have been transmitted online, thanks to the alliance of the Cuban Institutes of Music and Radio and Television, and TV channel Canal Clave and the frequencies of Radio Progreso, Facebook pages and the YouTube channel of the Ministry of Culture.

The concerts #EstamosContigo -- Streaming Cuba -- have reached almost two million Internet users and have registered more than 600 thousand video reproductions.  Among the most shared concerts are those of the duo Buena Fe and the Septeto Santiaguero and Turquino, while more than 10 thousand comments have been generated.

From 118 countries, including the United States, Cuba and Mexico, we have had reports of the transmissions that are broadcast from Monday to Friday at 4:30 p.m. local time.

So far, more than a hundred singer-songwriters and rap, pop and rock musicians, popular music groups and symphony groups have participated voluntarily in this initiative, and the concerts will be available until June, they announced.

The Ministry of Culture has made more than 35 streaming transmissions since March 24, when the online concerts began, and more than 50 spots with messages of solidarity and self-care have been broadcast in various spaces.
