Havana, May 4 (RHC)-- The National Director of Epidemiology,  Dr. Francisco Durán,  confirmed Monday that of the 176 children who have tested positive for Covid-19 in Cuba, 90 have been discharged and that all of them are progressing without complications.

Speaking Monday at the International Press Center in Havana,   Durán explained that so far, no serious patients have been reported within this population group.

"As in other parts of the world, the evolution of minors is favorable," however, Duran warned, they are a risk group. It is important not to let down our guard with security and protection measures for infants.

Duran said that by provinces, the highest number is concentrated in Havana and Villa Clara, with 52 and 28 cases, respectively, but he stressed that there are cases in all provinces.

Today 19 newly diagnosed cases were announced, bringing the overall figure of people diagnosed with COVID-19 in Cuba to 1668.
