Cuban president and prime minister meet with medical personnel who served in Lombardy

Havana, June 20 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel and Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz spoke this Saturday with the 52 members of the Henry Reeve Medical Brigade who served in Lombardy, Italy, in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic., reports the Presidency Cuba website on its Twitter account.

The Cuban collaborators arrived at the José Martí International Airport in the Cuban capital on June 8th, and for 14 days were quarantined at the La Pradera health center.

In Crema, these professionals attended to a total of 516 patients, provided some 5,526 medical care, 3,676 nurses, and saved some 219 lives.

Upon their return to Cuba, they were received via video conference by President Miguel Díaz-Canel, Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa, Prime Minister Manuel Marrero, Vice Prime Minister Roberto Morales Ojeda, Health Minister José Ángel Portal Miranda and other authorities.
