Havana, July 10 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel highlighted the role of young people in confronting the COVID-19 pandemic and in the recovery phase.

"Our young people have grown up participating, supporting and contributing," the president said on his Twitter social network account, which he accompanied with the labels #SomosCuba and #SomosContinuidad.

Leaders of youth organizations in the Caribbean nation praised the active participation of the youth in priority tasks such as food production during the recovery process from the disease, caused by the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2.

For the current stage of gradual return to normalcy, young people will remain linked to agriculture, the investigation of possible cases of COVID-19, energy saving and scientific development, said the first secretary of the Young Communist League, the UJC, Diosvany Acosta.
