Díaz-Canel at the UJC Congress

Havana, April 4 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel today highlighted on the last day of the 12th Congress of the Union of Young Communists (UJC), the strategic role played by young people in the country's economic battle, in the face of the intensification of the blockade imposed by the United States.

The head of state indicated that the purpose of the northern nation is to stop the development and welfare of the Cuban people, in spite of saying that it is in favor of it.

Faced with this panorama, the president emphasized that in order to move forward, Cuba needs to produce and create the wealth that the people need.

"The wealth that we create as a country, will be the one we can distribute with social justice, which is the logic of the socialist revolution in our country," he stressed.

Díaz-Canel considered it necessary to advocate from all instances of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government, to count on the participation of young people in the processes of transformation on the island.

He called on the UJC to develop a political movement to incorporate all young Cubans to study and get involved in the struggle for a better future, prosperity and welfare of the Cuban people.

The Cuban president also urged to hold youth innovation meetings to address complex issues and systematize the participation of young people in solving the problems of Cuban society.
He stressed the importance for the new generations to become familiar with and work on their problems from government pillars, such as social communication, innovation and informatization.
After listening to interventions of the delegates, referred to the strengthening of the policy of cadres and the need to increase the communication channels of the UJC, the Cuban leader urged young people to innovate and present their ideas and projects. (Source:PL)
