Havana, June 11 (RHC)--Given the persistence of the complex epidemiological situation in Cuba and internationally due to SARS-CoV-2, the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs informed that the sanitary measures taken in Cuban embassies and consulates to prevent COVID-19 will remain in force until further notice.

Since March 2020, Cuban consulates have adopted a series of measures aimed at protecting our nationals requesting services from possible contagion.

Thus, Cubans residing in countries where biometric data capture is applied may apply for a passport without visiting Cuban Consulates.

"To do so, they must use the application form available on the website of each consulate or consular office and comply with the quality requirements established for the photo and signature," the Cuban Foreign Ministry said.

"Cuban citizens residing in the national territory may return to Cuba, exceptionally, with their expired passport and without extending it. In the case of our compatriots residing abroad, whose life is usually developed in third countries, to travel to Cuba they need to do so with their passport in order, for which our consulates abroad will provide all the necessary facilities," said the text, which recalled that consular services are maintained remotely.
