Havana, June 29 (RHC)— Cuban Foreign Minister, Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, condemned the U.S. airstrikes President Joe Biden ordered on Monday along the Iraq-Syria border.

In a tweet, Rodriguez wrote: “Cuba firmly rejects the U.S. airstrikes against Syrian and Iraqi territories, which constitute a flagrant violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.”

The airstrikes left at least 11 people dead, including civilians, according to press reports.

The governments of both countries condemned the attacks.

It is the second time Biden has ordered airstrikes in the region. The actions came less than two weeks after the US House of Representatives voted to repeal the 2002 Authorization for Use of Military Force, which grants sweeping war powers to the president of the United States.
