Cuba and Argentina reaffirm willingness to strengthen ties

Minister Bruno Rodríguez and the Secretary of International Economic Relations
of the Argentinian Foreign Ministry, Jorge Neme, met on Monday.

Havana, August 30 (RHC)--Cuba and Argentina reaffirmed their willingness to strengthen their economic ties and expand links in various spheres, the island's Foreign Ministry reported.

In a meeting held on Monday between Minister Bruno Rodríguez and the Secretary of International Economic Relations of the Argentinian Foreign Ministry, Jorge Neme, the good state of bilateral relations was ratified.

Neme, who is on a working visit to Cuba, voiced his interest in concretizing projects for the development of food sovereignty in the Caribbean nation, the Ministry said.

For his part, Rodriguez  Parrilla ratified the willingness to expand bilateral ties and thanked the Argentinian government for its support in condemning the U.S. blockade against the island.

The Argentinian deputy foreign minister was accompanied by Luis Alfredo Ilarregui, his country's ambassador in Havana;. At the same time, Eugenio Martínez, director-general for Latin America and the Caribbean of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also participated on behalf of Cuba.

On Twitter, Neme informed that he also met with the Cuban Minister of Agriculture, Ydael Pérez, with the purpose of reaching an agreement on technical cooperation and business projects in the agricultural sector.
