Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez confirmed that the island will "continue to promote respect for the world's cultural and religious diversity."

United Nations, September 22 (RHC/Prensa Latina)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez confirmed that the island will "continue to promote respect for the world's cultural and religious diversity."

The Cuban diplomat spoke with the High Representative for the UN Alliance of Civilizations, Miguel Ángel Moratinos, in the context of the 76th United Nations General Assembly.

"I ratified that #Cuba, as a member of the Group of Friends of the Alliance, will continue to promote respect for the cultural and religious diversity of the world," Rodríguez tweeted. 

The Cuban foreign minister also held bilateral meetings with counterparts from different nations during the high-level segment of the UN General Assembly, running through September 27.

Previously, he spoke with the foreign ministers of Syria, Faisal al-Mekdad; Vietnam, Bui Thanh Son; and Qatar, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani; as well as the Minister of International Relations and Cooperation of South Africa, Naledi Pandor.
