Miami, September 30 (RHC)-- Cuban and Latin American emigration organizations in Miami that form the Alianza Martiana ratified their commitment to fight against what they called the 'infamous blockade' of the United States against Cuba.

The groups denounced the position of U.S. President Joe Biden, who in his recent speech in the UN General Assembly proclaimed a new policy of peace for the world, boasting of having put an end to 20 years of war in Afghanistan.

However, they stressed that the ruler maintains 'the genocidal policy of blockade against the Cuban people' and in complete opposition to the will of almost the entire international community .

In times of serious conflicts and pandemics, we wish to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to the Cuban people in their struggle against the infamous blockade by the governments of the United States', the coalition expressed in a note sent to Prensa Latina.

The Alliance also highlighted that, thanks to the great scientific advances made possible by the Socialist Revolution, Cuba already has the first Latin American vaccine against Covid-19.

In turn, the Caribbean country hopes that despite the unilateral siege that prevents the free acquisition of indispensable clinical supplies, to have 90 percent of its population vaccinated by the end of the year.

Emphasizing the example set by the largest of the Antilles, the group of emigrants recalled that Cuba has so far produced 30 million doses of its anti-Covid-19 Abdala vaccine, which has more than 90 percent effectiveness.

He also pointed out that this is the first country in Latin America and the Caribbean to immunize at least 80 percent of its population with a vaccine.

According to the opinion of analysts, on September 20, Biden completed eight months in office, but so far the Democrat maintains a line as hard as that of his Republican predecessor, Donald Trump, regarding Cuba.

Biden keeps promising to change the policy toward the island, without abolishing the 243 measures adopted by Trump,

Since November 24, 1992, the UN General Assembly has pronounced itself every year against the blockade, reflected in an almost unanimous vote.

On June 23 it was rejected by 184 of the 193 UN member countries and once again the United States was left with a solitary vote together with its unconditional ally Israel.(Cubasi)
