Cuba reports 592 new COVID-19 infections and 2 deaths

Havana, November 4 (RHC)-- Cuban health authorities reported on Thursday 592 new infections of COVID-19 and two deaths associated with the disease over the last 24 hours.

According to the Public Health Ministry's website, as of midnight, there were 3 049 positive cases hospitalized island-wide.

Camaguey reported 130 cases, Sancti Spiritus 98 and

Holguin 70. Those were the provinces with the highest number of infections.

Cuba's health authorities predict a significant epidemiological improvement in the coming weeks, thanks to the results that the health system is showing today in the comprehensive fight against Covid-19.

In the opinion of the head of the Primary Health Care Department of the Ministry of Public Health, María Elena Soto, the large percentage of people with the first anti-Covid-19 dose administered is already a good sign.

While 65.5 percent of the national population completed the immunization scheme against the SARS-Cov-2 coronavirus, which causes the disease, Soto said.

The doctor informed that conditions are currently being prepared for the third dose of Soberana Plus in the pediatric population, with which the infants will complete their scheme and will be able to go to school in person.
