Havana, November 13 (RHC)-- Visitors arriving in Cuba from November 15, when authorities will reopen the island's borders to mass tourism, will be able to get vaccinated here against Covid-19, said President Miguel Diaz-Canel.

The President assured in a televised appearance that foreign citizens had expressed interest in being immunized with the anti-Covid-19 injectables developed by Cuban scientists.

For this reason, the country has created the logistic capacities that will allow the follow-up of the whole process until the vaccination scheme is completed, according to health authorities.

Those who cannot do it due to the length of their stay in national territory and the necessary interval between doses will receive the first injection and carry the remaining ones with the essential indications for their use.

We know of groups of tourists who, besides having a pleasant stay on the island, want to get immunized and take advantage of the safety provided by Cuban injectables, he said.

Díaz-Canel pointed out that according to information from tour operator agencies, the number of flights to Cuba will increase during the whole month of November and will reach the highest levels in December and January.

In that sense, he pointed out that by the end of the year, this nation will receive almost 50 percent of the number of tourists who visited it so far in 2021.
