Cuban president talks with visiting Euro MPs

Havana, February 2 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel spoke on Wednesday with a delegation of Euro deputies and members of the group La Izquierda (The Left), who are visiting our country.

According to Cuban television news, the president received them at the Palace of the Revolution and exchanged on current national and international issues.

Previously, the president of the National Assembly of People's Power, Esteban Lazo, also talked with the group at the Capitol, the seat of the parliamentary body.

Sira Rego, MEP, acknowledged that the tightening of the U.S. economic blockade against Cuba, in the midst of the pandemic, constitutes an attack against human rights.

In declarations offered to the National Assembly, the also vice-president of the group La Izquierda, of the European Parliament, remarked that the hostile policy is an instrument of coercion that affects not only the island, but also other peoples of the world.

As part of an invitation from the Cuban Parliament, the delegation arrived in the country last Monday and since then has visited sites of historical, social and cultural interest.
