Moscow, Jun 15 (RHC)-- Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero will participate in the 25th edition of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) that begins on Wednesday, announced Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova.

According to the official, on the sidelines of the event, the head of the Cuban government will meet with the Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sergey Lavrov, who will attend the event.

Reportedly, Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodríguez and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Carlos Faría will also attend the forum.

Zakharova said that the development of cooperation between Russia and Latin America would have its place in the 25th edition of SPIEF.

"The Latin American segment of the upcoming forum will focus on discussing new forms of interaction. It is important for Latin American and Caribbean states, which have not joined the anti-Russian sanctions, to be our reliable economic partners," she stressed.

Zakharova added that the advancement of cooperation is a priority for both sides, implemented pragmatically and without ideological dogmas.
