Havana, June 15 (RHC)-- In compliance with migration agreements, 64 irregular Cuban migrants arrived last Friday at José Martí International Airport from Mexico. This is the 21st return operation carried out by that country in 2022, the Ministry of the Interior's website reported.

A medical team supervised the health condition of the travelers before they were transferred to their places of origin, the published note adds.

Cuba's commitment to maintaining an orderly, regular and safe migratory flow, stumbles with the Cuban Adjustment Act in force in the United States that encourages illegal emigration to that nation, putting the lives and safety of Cubans at risk.

It is not that one has political problems," said Abel Ramírez Campanioni, a migrant, "but that one seeks to improve, to have a better lifestyle. However," he said, "there is no security to making this journey. It is a difficult time and an adventure that cannot be described".

According to official figures, this year, 69 return operations have been carried out by air and sea, involving nearly 3,000 travelers.
