Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez

Havana, Oct 25 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez denounced Tuesday that the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States on Cuba is the main obstacle to access information and communications technologies.

On the social network Twitter, the foreign minister wrote that this policy excludes Cubans from services that most Internet users can enjoy. He accompanied the message with the hashtag #MejorSinBloqueo.

Recently, during the presentation to the press of the report to be presented at the United Nations General Assembly, entitled "Necessity of ending the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States of America against Cuba", in the period of August 2021 and February 2022, Rodriguez referred to the affectations related to the issue.

"Cuba cannot acquire, anywhere, in any way, technologies, equipment, spare parts, pieces, digital technologies or software, which have 10 percent of U.S. components, which is a direct impact, as serious as that of the lack of foreign currency to guarantee supplies", the minister assured.
