Havana, December 11 (RHC)-- The permanent working commissions of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power - parliament - will work this Sunday in Havana, as a preamble to the tenth session of the ninth legislature of that body.

At the Palace of Conventions in Havana, these groups will conclude a systematic activity deployed throughout the whole period, both virtually and in person, in permanent contact with the different government agencies.

The National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba -ANPP- will meet in plenary session from next 12 to 14, as the culmination of an intense legislative work, evidenced in the approval of 30 laws and 65 decree laws, in the midst of the limitations imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The deputies will have a busy agenda with important economic and social issues, including the presentation and approval of several laws, accountabilities of central agencies and the follow-up of transcendental issues for the future of the country.

Among the bills to be submitted for approval are those of the Comptroller's Office, the Attorney General's Office, Social Communication, Livestock Promotion and Development, and expropriation for reasons of public interest and social interest.

The legislators will also receive reports from the corresponding agencies on the situation of the national electro-energy system, the implementation of Law 148 on Food Sovereignty, local retail trade, progress of the legislative schedule in accordance with the changes established in the current Constitution and the fight against corruption and illegalities.

The Council of State, the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic and the Ministry of Communications will also be accountable. The Parliament will also be informed of the balance sheets on the development of the national economy, the forecasts for 2023 and the budget for the coming period.

Simultaneously to these sessions, a digitalization process will be initiated to make the work of the deputies more expeditious and effective, for which a valuable donation of resources from the National Assembly of Vietnam was received, as recently informed Homero Acosta, Secretary of the Council of State.
