Russian Government donates wheat to Cuba

Havana, Dec 25 (RHC) Russian authorities allocated more than 800 million rubles to the Emergencies Ministry for the purchase and delivery to Cuba of 25,000 tons of wheat.

 

A decree of the Government of the Russian Federation states that the delivery will be made, this and next year, in the form of humanitarian aid by sea.

 

The document specifies that 469 million rubles (about 6.7 million US dollars) will be allocated from the state budget for the purchase of wheat.

 

Meanwhile, more than 300 million rubles will be allocated for the delivery of the shipment to Cuba.

 

The Russian Executive instructed the Ministry of Emergencies to deliver humanitarian aid to the Island, while the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to assist it in the operations. (Source: PL)
