Russian government warns of Wasington's wishes about Nord Stream

Havana, March 28 (RHC) Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova drew attention on Tuesday to Washington's position on avoiding an investigation on sabotage against the Nord Stream gas pipelines.

“The United States and all those whom it has as its accomplices know that an investigation would harm them, it would cause them direct damage, it would threaten what is really important to everyone, that the truth should appear," the official declared.

Likewise, presidential spokesman Dmitri Peskov regretted the decision of the UN Security Council not to support the Russian-Chinese resolution on an international investigation.

"We believe that everyone should be interested in an objective investigation that involves all interested parties, all those who can shed light on the clients and perpetrators of this terrorist act," Peskov said.

The UN Security Council on Monday did not support a Russian-Chinese resolution with which it was proposed to organize an international investigation of the sabotage against the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines. Only three countries supported this document and 12 countries abstained.

With this proposal, the Russian delegation asked the UN Secretary General, Antonio Guterres, to create an independent international commission to carry out an exhaustive, transparent and impartial investigation into the sabotage denounced by Russia. (Source: Prensa Latina)
