Cuban Covid-19 vaccines have high efficacy and safety in clinical trials

Havana, Jan 11 (RHC) On Wednesday, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel praised his country's progress in domestic Covid-19 immunization thanks to homegrown vaccine development.

On Twitter, the Cuban leader recalled that as many as 47 million Soberana and Abdala vaccine doses, developed by the Finlay Vaccine Institute (IFV) and the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB), have been widely applied in the country.

We´re among the first nations in Covid-19 immunization, thanks to the Public Health Ministry (MINSAP) and BioCubaFarma Business Group, President Díaz-Canel live-tweeted.

Cuba’s homegrown Covid-19 vaccines have high efficacy and safety in clinical trials, comply with international standards, and are successfully applied in a dozen countries.

Cuba was the first country to immunize children against Covid-19.

Recently, the prestigious journal Lancet Regional Health Americas published the Soberana 02 and Soberana Plus phase three clinical trial results. (Prensa Latina)
