José Martí

Havana, Jan 18 (RHC) On Wednesday, Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted the validity of José Martí´s ideas, 10 days before Cuba celebrates the 170th anniversary of his birth.

In a year in which the country seeks to give a significant boost to the economy, eliminate obstacles that hinder its development and face the limitations of the U.S. blockade with creativity, promoting the broad participation of the population, Marti's thought becomes fully relevant.

Díaz-Canel has repeatedly insisted on his Twitter account on Marti's ideas, thus joining the many tributes that are carried out on the island and abroad to remember the birthdate of the most universal of Cubans.

In that line the day before, the president said "there is too much imitation, and salvation lies on creation. Create is the last word of this generation" and added that "José Martí said it more than a century ago and it is valid today and it will be in the future". (Source: PL)
