Havana, Feb 10 (RHC) Army General Raúl Castro Ruz congratulated on Friday the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) military academy General Antonio Maceo, on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of that institution.

The leader of the Cuban Revolution sent the school's staff a letter read by Major General Victor Rojo, head of the FAR's Political Directorate, in which he highlighted the work carried out by the school in the training and improvement of officers, who are increasingly prepared and committed to the defense of the Homeland.

In the political act and military ceremony, the deputy minister of the FAR and chief of the General Staff, Major General Roberto Legrá recalled that this school emerged in 1963, in the face of constant threats from the United States in its eagerness to destroy the Cuban Revolution.

The Military School has graduated more than 30 thousand officers and chiefs in the different specialties of command and engineering, as a sign of the constant preparation of the FAR.
