Havana, February 24 (RHC)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel rejected Friday the destabilization and disinformation operations orchestrated by transnational corporations against the Caribbean nation on digital platforms.

On his Twitter profile, the head of state shared a message from Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, who denounced the manipulation and double standards of Facebook Meta's parent company, as well as its participation in disinformation campaigns against Cuba.

In the social network, Díaz-Canel stressed that "the work of the Revolution counts on a whole people to defend it".

Our rejection of new hypocrisy and complicity of these corporations with a known history of disinformation and destabilization operations on digital platforms against #Cuba. The work of the Revolution counts on a whole people to defend it. https://t.co/wGOlTOmVQN

According to the Cuban Foreign Minister, Meta ideologically biases his most recent report, in which he announced the removal of "inauthentic" accounts in Serbia, Cuba and Bolivia, allegedly linked to governments or political parties in power to disseminate their contents.

Rodríguez also pointed out that instead of using as an argument the derisory payment for advertising, a service inaccessible to Cuba due to the U.S. blockade, Meta should explain its own "inauthentic" and biased behavior by allowing denigrating, stigmatizing and generating hate campaigns from Florida against the island.

"Despite attempts to censor our voice and make the truth invisible, Cubans will continue to defend our Revolution and its socialist system of social justice, also in the digital arena in the face of harassment and destabilizing operations," the foreign minister assured.
