Havana, April 8 (RHC) The U.S. Coast Guard returned Friday 48 Cuban citizens intercepted at sea after participating in three illegal departures from the country, Cuba's Ministry of the Interior reported.

The 42 men and six women, mostly from Havana and Camagüey (center), participated in three illegal departures from the Caribbean nation.

With this operation, carried out by the Orozco port in the western province of Artemisa, the number of return actions carried out by the U.S. Coast Guard so far this year is 33 and the total number of people returned is 2,260.

Cuban authorities have reiterated their firm commitment to regular, safe, and orderly migration and warn about the danger and life-threatening conditions posed by illegal departures from the country by sea. (Source: PL)
