Havana, August 28 (RHC) -– Cuban First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel stressed the importance and role of the new generations of Cubans to build a better and increasingly fairer society and a prosperous and sustainable socialist system.

The top Cuban official addressed the final session of the National Council of the University Student Federation (FEU), held at the University of Information Technologies, which evaluated the work of the organization following its 8th Congress last year.

The Federation's Council considered experiences and new ideas to boost social and community work, as well as actions aimed at backing the advancement of the Cuban economic model.

In his remarks at the forum, Diaz-Canel also referred to the subversive U.S. plans against Cuba, which particularly target the Cuban youths. Such actions were strongly condemned by the Federation in a public declaration on behalf of the over 125,000 members of the organization.

Diaz-Canel said that the University Student Federation will always be represented by revolutionary students who are proud to be Cubans.
