Cuban governors and deputy-governors take office

Havana, June 4 (RHC)-- Cuba's provincial governors and deputy governors, elected on May 28, will take office this Sunday, before the representative of the Council of State appointed for that purpose.

The Provincial Councils of People's Power will also be constituted with the mission of leading and promoting the economic and social development of the territories.

The governor is the maximum executive-administrative responsible for his demarcation, he also organizes and directs the provincial administration for which he is assisted by the administrative entity.

He must also render accounts and report on his administration before the National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), the Council of State, the Council of Ministers and the Provincial Council.

On its website, the highest legislative body made available to citizens an interactive map with biographical data, photos and information of interest about the governors and deputy governors of each province of the Caribbean nation.
