Havana, July 22 (RHC)-- Miguel Díaz-Canel, First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, today congratulated Gail Walker, executive director of the Interreligious Foundation for Community Organization (IFCO), to which the Pastors for Peace Caravan belongs, on her birthday.

"Receive all the affection of our people, who are grateful for your love and solidarity," Diaz-Canel wrote on his Twitter account, and sent an embrace on behalf of his wife, Lis Cuesta.   Gail Walker is currently in Cuba with the 33rd Pastors for Peace Caravan, traveling to Santiago de Cuba to participate in the activities for the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada and Carlos Manuel de Cespedes barracks.

"Happy birthday, dear @GailWalker_IFCO. I know you are on your way to Santiago de #Cuba to celebrate with us the 70th anniversary of the assault on the Moncada Barracks. Receive all the affection of our people, who are grateful for your love and solidarity.  Lis and I send you a big hug."

Gail is the leader of Pastors, a project founded in the United States in 1992 by her father, Reverend Lucius Walker, whose fundamental objective is the collection and transfer of humanitarian aid for Cuba.

In 2022, the Cuban head of state awarded the Order of Solidarity to the Pastors for Peace Caravan, and decorated Gail Walker with the Medal of Friendship. (Source: ACN)
