North Korean foreign minister congratulates her Cuban counterpart

Pyongyang, September 2 (RHC)-- DPRK Foreign Minister Choe Son Hui congratulated her Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez on the occasion of the 63rd anniversary of the establishment of bilateral diplomatic relations, it was learned Saturday.

The state news agency ACNC reported that the missive points out that the tradition of Korea-Cuba friendship and cooperation ties, based on the invariable revolutionary principle and comradeship, will shine even brighter in the future.

Meanwhile, the Korean daily Minju Joson said in an editorial that the DPRK and Cuba continue to fight side by side to defend socialism and strengthen their fraternal friendship every day.

The newspaper highlighted the worth of President Kim Il Sung, Workers' Party General Secretary Kim Jong Il, and the leaders of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel and Raul Castro Ruz.

The two countries firmly uphold the banner of anti-imperialist independence and socialism," he said, "and support each other amid the complicated international situation, which further strengthens friendly relations.

Minju Joson recalled that in November 2018, the top leader of the DPRK, Kim Jong Un, received in Pyongyang the first secretary of the Communist Party and president of Cuba, Miguel Díaz-Canel.

On that occasion, the two reaffirmed the will of the two countries to be faithful to history and to sustainably strengthen relations of friendship, comradeship and strategic cooperation, the daily noted.
