The visit is aimed strengthening interparliamentary ties between Cuba and Laos

 

Havana, Sep 11 (RHC) The vice president of the National Assembly of People's Power and the Council of State, Ana María Mari Machado, began this Monday in Vientiane a visit aimed at strengthening interparliamentary ties between Cuba and Laos.

On their first day of activities, Mari and her delegation will pay courtesy visits to the members of the Political Bureau of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party: Bounthong Chitmany, vice president of the Republic; and Xaysomphone Phomvihane, head of the National Assembly.

In addition, they will visit emblematic sites of this city such as the Pha That Luang stupa, the Wat Sisaket temple and the museum in memory of former president Kaysone Phomvihane.

The delegation of Cuban parliamentarians will travel on Tuesday to the province of Luang Prabang, where they will be received by Governor Khamkhun Chantavisouk, they will visit the town of Pha Nom and a traditional Huen Chun house.

Next Wednesday, on their last day of stay in the capital, the deputies will visit, among others, the Dry Port and the Thanaleng Logistics Park before leaving for Hanoi to participate in the 9th World Conference of Young Parliamentarians. (Source: PL)
