Havana, Nov 3 (RHC) The Deputy Prime Minister and head of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, Ricardo Cabrisas, concluded a working visit in Moscow.

An important moment of the visit was the meeting of Co-Presidents of the Cuban-Russian Intergovernmental Commission for Economic and Scientific-Technical Collaboration, which Cabrisas headed with his Russian counterpart, Dmitri Chernishenko.

Both parties ratified the willingness to continue deepening economic, commercial, financial and cooperation ties, and examined the main economic projects in areas such as energy, industry, transportation, medical-pharmaceutical and others.

Cabrisas and Chernishenko spoke out against discriminatory policies. They condemned the blockade and the unilateral measures to which they are subject, and assessed the impact of the global economic crisis on their respective economies.

They agreed that in the current international context it is necessary to take a different look at core issues such as the logistics of maritime and air transportation, interbank relations, as well as the reactivation of the tourist flow.

During the visit, important documents were signed such as the Bilateral Economic Agenda until 2023 and the Roadmap for the implementation of the Framework Agreement for cooperation between both governments.

This meeting reaffirms the excellent state of bilateral relations between both countries and the development prospects on mutually advantageous bases.

It was agreed to hold the 21st Session of the Intergovernmental Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technical Commission in Moscow in February 2024.

During the visit Cabrisas also held meetings with the Minister of Finance, Anton Siluanov; with the Vice Chancellor, Sergei Riabkov; with the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma, Ivan Melnikov; with the Economic Advisor to the Russian President, Maxim Oreshkin, and with important companies that develop projects with Cuba.
