President of Cuba heads ceremony marking 50 years of the Attorney General's Office

Havana, December 14 (Red Web)-- The First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (CC-PCC) and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel headed this Thursday the national ceremony for the half-century anniversary of the founding of the FGR, Office of the Attorney General of the Republic.

The occasion was the occasion for the presentation of the 50th Anniversary Seal of that State organ to personalities and institutions of the country, reports the Presidency of the Republic on its social network account X.

The information adds that in a special way, the president gave recognition for half a century of service to six founders of the institution who continue to work in the Prosecutor's Office.

For her part, the Attorney General of the Republic, Yamila Peña Ojeda, presented the Toga al Mérito to the commander of the Rebel Army, José Ramón Machado Ventura, for his close ties with the FGR, since his responsibilities in the PCC, for his dedication and permanent example.

The fundamental objectives of the Attorney General's Office are the control and preservation of legality, based on the surveillance of strict compliance with the Constitution, laws and other legal provisions, by State agencies, economic and social entities and citizens.

It is also responsible for the promotion and exercise of public criminal action on behalf of the State (Source: @PresidenciaCuba).
