Cuban PM calls to strengthen domestic production

Havana, Dec 16 (RHC) Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero called to strengthen domestic production to improve the country's situation, which has been marked by the tightening of the blockade imposed by the United States and international crises.

Speaking at the 7th plenary session of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Marrero said that the Government is working in a war economy scenario.

The head of Government stressed “the need to understand that the resources we might have in 2024 will be those we are capable of producing ourselves.”

According to a press release from the PCC website, the prime minister mentioned a group of reflections in which shortcomings and problems that affect citizens are not subjected to other external conditions.

He commented that the Economic Plan and the National Budget must be based on the country’s essential needs.

Marrero also listed a series of measures to achieve a stable supply of goods, increase the participation of foreign investment, transform the energy matrix, raise municipal incomes, and strengthen the labor force in leading sectors. (Source: Prensa Latina)
