Budapest, December 21 (RHC) -- Cuban and Hungarian entities recently signed at the embassy of Cuba in Budapest an important framework agreement that will strengthen scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries, diplomatic sources reported Thursday.

The Cuban ambassador, Guillermo Vázquez, informed that the signatories of the agreement were the University of Oriente, the main scientific university entity of the eastern region of the country, located in the province of Santiago de Cuba, and its research institute, the Center for Medical Biophysics (CBM).

On the other hand, the signing corresponded to the UltraSmart R&D Laboratory, which has a long history of close cooperation with several Cuban universities and state scientific centers, based on similar bilateral agreements.

Under the agreement, the Hungarian side will provide CBM with comprehensive technological assistance for the joint development of high-tech medical and rehabilitation systems for the market introduction of advanced products, jointly developed and specifically aimed at Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Cuba will bring to this collaboration its many decades of scientific and clinical experience, based on its network of healthcare institutions.
