Ciego de Avila, February 8 (RHC) -- Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel Bermudez today began a tour of several places of economic and social interest in Ciego de Avila as part of his agenda to review priorities for 2024 in the country.

The president was accompanied by Roberto Morales Ojeda, member of the Political Bureau and Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee of the PCC, Liván Izquierdo Alonso, member of the Central Committee of the PCC and its first secretary in the province of Avila, and Alfred Menéndez Pérez, governor, among other authorities.

Díaz-Canel began his visit to the province of Avila, the second this year, at the Reproduction Center of Entomophagous and Entomopathogens (Cree), belonging to the Ciro Redondo Sugar Agroindustrial Enterprise, located in the municipality of the same name.

There, the President will check the seven production lines, among them the main one, which is the Lixophaga fly, natural enemy of the sugar cane borer (Diatraea saccharalis).

In view of the deficit of fertilizers and chemical pesticides, the production of this Cree provides protection to all areas of the sugar agroindustrial entity,v said Jaqueline Pereira Sánchez, head of this collective, to the press. (Source:ACN)
