Havana, March 29 (RHC)-- The digital newspaper Haiti Libre reproduced Friday a note from the Cuban Foreign Ministry (Minrex) in which the government of Cuba patented its permanent solidarity support to the Haitian people.

"Cuba has provided solidarity and selfless cooperation to Haiti in areas of great impact for its people such as public health, education, agriculture, sports, energy, water resources and other key areas for the social and economic stability of the country," the text stresses.

It adds that 448,550 Haitians were taught to read and write through Cuban educational programs and 1,606 young people were trained in universities.

"Our country has maintained uninterruptedly, since 1998, a brigade of health professionals and technicians at the side of the Haitian people, who with their humanistic and altruistic work attended to 38 million 580 thousand 215 cases," the Minrex note recalls.

Likewise, 774,236 surgeries and 73,331 ophthalmologic procedures were performed within the framework of Operation Miracle, and 204,90,000 deliveries were carried out.

"Our specialists administered one million 14,806 doses of vaccines and saved 252,433 lives".

It adds that cooperation was maintained, even during Haiti's most difficult times, including the foreign intervention of 2004, the earthquakes of 2010 and 2021, the cholera outbreaks and the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as the current situation.

"The brotherly Haitian people can always count on Cuba's solidarity support," ratified the note from the Cuban Foreign Ministry amplified by the Haiti Libre newspaper.
