Havana, May 2 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel participated this Friday in the Meeting of Solidarity with Cuba, Anti-imperialism, and Against the Resurgence of Fascism, which was held at the Havana Convention Center.

After visiting the Havana International Tourism Fair, the head of state joined the gathering, where citizens from various nations and continents demanded an end to hostilities against the Caribbean country.

In addition to condemning the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. nation, they also rejected the inclusion of the Caribbean nation on the list of state sponsors of terrorism, unilaterally drawn up by the White House.

The attendees also raised their voices in defense of the Palestinian cause and in support of movements for justice around the world, in addition to proposing actions and strategies to confront the dangers that threaten humanity.

This forum, organized annually by the Cuban Workers' Federation (CTC) and the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP), is held at the Havana Convention Center, as part of the International Workers' Day festivities.

At the conclusion of the event, the Cuban president held a dialogue with Carolina Rangel Gracida, secretary general of the National Regeneration Movement (MORENA).

According to the organizers, the meeting is attended by "969 friends representing 269 organizations from 39 countries."

The event is dedicated to the legacy of historic leader Fidel Castro, the 25th anniversary of his presentation of his concept of Revolution to the world, and also to the celebration of the 22nd Congress of the CTC and the 65th anniversary of ICAP.
