Havana, November 20 (RHC)-- Thousands of people from Cuba and around the world have sent messages of solidarity to the families of the Cuban doctor infected by the Ebola virus. Dr. Felix Baez Sarria is a member of the medical team of the Caribbean nation and contracted the deadly disease in Sierra Leone over the weekend.

Encouraging messages inundate the websites of the island since people learned about the health of Dr. Sarria, who tested positive to a diagnostic test for Ebola. As of Thursday, he was reportedly hemodynamically stable and has no further complications.

"Eleven million Cubans in your country are hoping you defeat Ebola and get strong; an entire people is with you" –- was just one of the messages that can be read on Cuban websites today, such as CubaDebate, Cubasí, among others.

In Sierra Leone, his fellow doctors and medical personnel sent letters of support for the collaborator and his family and ratified they will stand firm, for him, for Cuba and for humanity.

The son of Felix Baez also expressed his appreciation for all the messages of support, saying that they have given hope to his father and family.
