Caracas, March 6 (RHC)-- Cuba's First Vice President Miguel Diaz-Canel reiterated the island's firm support of Venezuela and the Bolivarian Revolution as he arrived in Caracas on Thursday to attend commemorations of the second anniversary of the death of Bolivarian leader Hugo Chavez.

Diaz-Canel said that Chavez continues to live among us and we should honor him with positive results in social and revolutionary processes.

The top Cuban official is also participating at the 9th Extraordinary Summit of the PetroCaribe program, underway Friday in Venezuela. The PetroCaribe program, which favors regional countries with oil at preferential prices, was described by Diaz-Canel as a humanistic, social and supportive project that puts aside vanity as it proves that a better world is possible to achieve with solidarity.

Since its creation in 2005, PetroCaribe has provided over 300 million barrels of oil to the program´s member nations, which has allowed them to use their resources to fight poverty, boost development and build fairer societies.
