Havana, March 10 (RHC) -– The Cuban government has issued a statement in support of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela following an aggressive and arbitrary executive order describing the South American nation a threat to U.S. national security.

Washington's measure was in reprisal for recent defensive measures adopted by Caracas in defense of its sovereignty and against interventionist actions by U.S. government and congressional authorities.

The Cuban statement says that the U.S. order sounds difficult to believe and reveals the interests of those who issued it. Such an action in a year, when Venezuela will hold legislative elections again affirms the interference-oriented nature of US foreign policy, reads the Cuban statement.

The serious character of the U.S. order has triggered the alert for Latin American and Caribbean governments, which during the January 2014 CELAC Summit, declared the region a Peace Zone and repudiated any act that goes against it, since they have a long experience about imperial intervention in their history.

The Cuban Revolutionary government once again reiterates its unconditional support to the Bolivarian Revolution, the legitimate government led by Nicolas Maduro and to the heroic people of Venezuela, the statement points out, and concludes that like Cuba, which was never alone, Venezuela will not be alone either.
