Collaboration of Cuban Doctors Expands in South Africa

Havana, June 4 (RHC)-- Cuban medical cooperation is expanding in South Africa after the arrival in that country of a new group of health professionals who will provide humanitarian aid in nine provinces.

Dr. Alex Carreras, head of the mission, told Prensa Latina news agency that another group of doctors from the Caribbean nation will also travel to South Africa later this month, widening Cuba's cooperation in the African nation.

Dr. Carreras also pointed to the training of 2,500 young South African medical students in Cuba, and said that the collaboration between the two countries strengthens bilateral ties of friendship.
