La Paz, August 4 (RHC)-- Bolivian President Evo Morales has called for the lifting of the U.S. blockade against Cuba imposed for over 50 years and for the return of the illegally occupied Guantanamo Naval Base.

At a press conference in the Government Palace in La Paz, the Bolivian president said that the process to re-establish relations between Cuba and the United States is a resounding victory of the people and the Cuban Revolution. And he added: "We hope that President Barack Obama lifts the economic blockade and returns the Guantanamo Bay.”

Morales highlighted the power of resistance of the Cuban people, whom he said “have not been intimidated by pressure."
