President of Cape Verde Points to Cuban Solidarity

Havana, December 16 (RHC)-- The president of Cape Verde, Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca, described Cuba's relations with his country as an example of solidarity.

In a keynote lecture at the University of Havana, de Almeida addressed current challenges for Africa and recalled the support given by Cuba to his country in its national liberation struggle against Portuguese colonialism and later in the development of the African country in different sectors.

The president of Cape Verde said that as a result of that support, his country now has skilled personnel in several sectors, who were trained in Cuba, including over one hundred doctors.

Speaking of Cuba's relations with his country and Africa as a whole is describes an example of supportive relations and of South-South cooperation, noted the visiting president of Cape Verde.
