Havana, February 1 (RHC)-- The Cuban Association of the United Nations (ACNU) will develop a series of actions throughout 2016, aimed at stepping up the campaign against Washington's over 50 year-old blockade policy and other anti-Cuba pieces of legislation that hamper the ongoing process towards fully normalized U.S.-Cuba relations.

Activists with the Cuban civil society organization met over the weekend for their general assembly. They said that as part of the campaign, they will also continue demanding the return to Cuba of the territory in Guantánamo illegally occupied by the U.S. Naval Base, and an end to all anti-Cuba subversive actions, including the illegal radio and TV broadcasts from U.S. soil.

Cuban deputy Foreign Minister Ana Teresita González Fraga attended the ACNU meeting. She called on members of the association to work harder to face and overcome present and emerging challenges and strengthen ties with other solidarity movements around the world.
