An essential place in the Cuban government's work agenda is occupied by the tour of the various territories of the country to listen to the people, learn about their concerns and suggestions on problems that concern everyone.

And if 2021 ended with great dynamism, this year has begun with the same energy and desire to do more. Thus, in the few weeks that have passed, governmental visits have been made to several provinces to continue deepening this enriching mechanism of dialogue with the people, which makes it possible to advance in the common objective of building a more prosperous and sustainable country.

In the week just concluded, President Miguel Díaz Canel visited Pinar del Río, the westernmost of Cuba's provinces. The tour began in Reparto 5 de Septiembre, where he exchanged with the inhabitants.

In this peripheral settlement of the capital of Pinar del Río, as in other communities of the Caribbean nation, works of housing rehabilitation, street construction and improvement of water supply and public lighting services are being carried out.

They also visited places of economic interest, study centers and other entities, to evaluate in situ the prospects for economic and social development of the territories.

They also visited places of economic interest, study centers and other entities to evaluate in situ the prospects for economic and social development of the territories, as well as to learn about the fulfillment of proposals made during previous government visits, this being the third visit to Pinar del Río. Similar visits were made in 2018 and 2019.

In recent days the president, who has insisted on the importance of knowing first-hand the aspirations of the people, also traveled to Sancti Spiritus, Villa Clara and Cienfuegos.

The interaction of the president and other important government officials with the people is constant in order to find better ways to work and solve the accumulated social problems that cause dissatisfaction.

And although it is a reality that the U.S. blockade and the substantial funds allocated to the COVID 19 confrontation are impediments, much more can be achieved, as Díaz Canel has reiterated, with the resources available to each territory and the efforts of all, since the active participation of the population is essential.

This has been demonstrated by the transforming actions that have been taking place for months throughout the country and which, for example, in Havana, the capital, have made it possible to improve the conditions of more than 60 communities.

We work for the population, to improve their quality of life, that is why dialogue must always be present, in order to find viable and innovative solutions among all.
