U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken hastily went on tour to try to cushion a little the consequences of the genocide that Israel is perpetrating in the Gaza Strip, and for which the United States is one of the main culprits.

No doubt someone of average intelligence in the White House realized how the murder of more than 20,000 innocent Palestinians, as well as the Zionist attacks against other targets in the Middle East, will destabilize that area, which will continue to burn for many years to come.

The hatred that Tel Aviv is building up will poison the region to levels far exceeding those of the 60s and 70s of the last century and this resentment will also be directed against the co-authors and accomplices of the slaughter, an area in which the northern power occupies the first place.

The head of US diplomacy openly admits that his trip, which has touched, or will touch, among other places, Turkey, Greece, Jordan, Qatar and Saudi Arabia, is aimed at preventing the conflict from spreading further.

Late, very late unfortunately, they are realizing that certain boxes, like Pandora's box, when they are opened, it is very difficult to close them.

Perhaps if someone had had the sense to lend President Joseph Biden and his Secretary of State a copy of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's monumental novel One Hundred Years of Solitude, they would have learned that part where Colonel Aureliano Buendia discovered that it is much easier to start a war than to try to end it.

Anyway, now Blinken is going around telling his interlocutors that Israel must "adjust" its military operations to limit harm to civilians, when he knows very well that the bombs that are killing innocents are American.

He also clamors for sending more humanitarian aid to Gaza and said he opposes the Zionist plan to expel Palestinians from the Strip to send in Jewish settlers, which would violate the entire international legal order.

He even used a curious term, which I do not know if it came to him suddenly or if he has been thinking about it for some time, when he called in Doha to prevent the conflict from "metastasizing" in the Middle East region.

It is not a banal word, it is the cancer that metastasizes, so somehow Mr. Blinken recognizes the existence of malignant tumors over there and, as far as we know, the biggest and most aggressive one is the Netanyahu regime.

Instead of playing fireman in an area they themselves helped set on fire, they should lift the blockade they have the UN Security Council under and allow strong sanctions against Israel.
